Abstract

The Market Day program at Kencana Islamic Kindergarten is implemented as a contextual learning approach to develop children's cognitive, social, and character skills through direct learning experiences. This study aims to assess the implementation of this program in terms of planning, implementation, and results obtained. The method used is descriptive qualitative evaluation, by conducting observations, interviews, and document analysis of teachers, students, and relevant teaching materials. The evaluation results indicate that Market Day is effective in improving communication skills, cooperation, creativity, and understanding of simple transactions. This program also has a positive impact on character development, including independence, responsibility, and honesty, as well as strengthening the school's image through parent participation and innovative activities. However, the evaluation found that the thematic planning aspect needs to be improved so that activities are more organized and in line with learning objectives. Overall, Market Day is considered worthy of being maintained and further developed because it can provide meaningful learning experiences and encourage children's overall development.
